The article is devoted to a detailed study of the role of the National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation, considering it as a central tool for the implementation of state policy in the field of national security. The main focus is on the structure, functions, and mechanisms for implementing the National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation, as well as the impact of this document on setting and solving tasks in this area. The study highlights the importance of regularly updating the National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation, as it forms the basis for government decision-making, ensuring consistency of actions of all participants in the process of ensuring national security. The author conducts a detailed analysis of the official text of the latest version of the National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation, approved by Decree No. 400 of the President of the Russian Federation dated July 2, 2021, highlighting the key changes and innovations introduced into the legal act. This analysis allows us to identify current priorities and directions of state policy in ensuring national security. This includes a study to determine the historical stages of the development of the National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation and identify differences between the current version of the document and the version issued before 2020. The study emphasizes the importance of regularly updating the National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation, as it forms the basis for decision-making for the Government of the Russian Federation, federal and regional executive bodies, and civil society, ensuring the coordination of actions by all participants in the national security process.
