Foreign policy expertise: Polyvariety of research approaches in political science

The main theoretical and methodological approaches that are used in Russian and world political science to study foreign policy expertise and related problems are analyzed in the article. The author concludes that there are so called “procedural”, institutional, system, and network approaches. From the point of view of the first one, foreign policy expertise is a special activity or procedure that is carried out by subjects with special knowledge and status.

Russia’s space and border in the value dimension

The article reveals the understanding of space and the state border as a national value of Russia. As a result of historical development, due to the presence of a constant threat to the country and the resource mobilization for its protection, the citizens of Russia have formed a sustainable defense consciousness and understanding of the border as a sacred value. The article raises the question of further understanding of the problem.

The author examine efforts of Malian state, France, as former metropole, and state that include Mali in its traditional zone of influence, and the whole international community to de-escalate the conflict. Results of this particular research showed multiple layers of the conflict.

The article is devoted to identifying the role and significance of the Hamas movement in the foundation of a Palestinian state.

Political Aspects of American Assistance to Ukraine on the Eve of the 2002 Parliamentary Elections

The article is devoted to the political analysis of the tools used by the United States to withdraw Ukraine from the sphere of economic influence of Russia. Based on the analysis of the materials of individual projects and scientific publications, the authors come to conclusion that by 2002 the expected change of generations of political scientists and economists did not take place in the USA. The tone within the Ukrainian issue continued to be set by the veterans of the Cold War and the financial structures behind them.

Youth: Subject-Object Status in the System of Municipal Youth Policy

The article deals with theoretical and methodological approaches to determining the subject-object status and involvement of young people in the processes of political, social, and economic development of a municipality. The starting point of the research is the assumption that the traditional approach to youth as a socio-demographic group, distinguished by socio-age and professional characteristics, does not correspond to the current dynamics of political processes occurring in municipalities and regions.
