Current social benefi ts package of shift workers and their future employment expectations: The habituation eff ect

This article examines the habituation eff ect in the context of labor mobility among shift workers, focusing on the relationship between the current social benefi ts package and compensation incentives received at work and the expectations regarding their provision in potential job placement within the permanent residence region. The empirical basis consists of data from a CAWI survey (February 2024, n = 434, shift workers permanently residing in the Republic of Mordovia).

Career Sociology: the Problem of Employment

The article considers the employment of sociological department graduates which is a most relevant issue today. It highlights and describes typical discrepancies between the graduates’ expectations and job offers at the employment market. The author considers the most popular positions occupied by the sociologically educated young people and also studies national and foreign experience of interconnection between sociological education and employers. As a result current problems have been identified and ways to effectively employ sociologists have been found.
