The research focuses on the analysis of communicative and program-oriented approaches in the fi eld of patriotic education and their practical implementation at the regional level. The purpose of this study is to determine the features and significance of patriotic education in the Nizhny Novgorod region. As part of the work, key parameters of the activities of public authorities at various levels aimed at supporting and developing patriotism both in the Russian Federation as a whole and in a particular region were identifi ed.
