The purpose of this article is to consider various scholarly interpretations of the relationship between the nature of political identity of different age groups and ensuring national security in modern Russia. Based on the analysis of relevant segment of domestic scientifi c discourse, it is concluded that the problem of the relationship between general civic identity of the younger generation and ensuring national security in modern Russia is not singled out as a separate research area or a self-suffi cient scientifi c problem.
