Discursive support of various types of religious identity: The problem of discursive hierarchy

Religious identity as a form of correlation of a person, a social group with a certain socio-semiotic religious system has various types: normative-confessional, folklorized, nomadic, virtual and marginal ones. Any religiosity is accompanied by certain specifi c meanings, which are combined into discourses. The types of religious identity diff er from each other in many ways. Essential among them is the specifi c discursive accompaniment of each type of religious identity.

The article attempts at sociological and socio-semiotic conceptualization of marginal religious identity phenomenon. On the basis of previous authors’ researches the conclusion of the existence of thee types of religious identity is drawn: standard and confessional, folk-like and marginal, and of two vectors of orthodox identity: «urban» and «rural». The urban vector of religious identity is distinguished by big rationalism, various hierarchy of values and various discourse maintenance.
