The potential of labor migration as a “soft power” resource to enhance integration processes between Russia and Central Asia

The relevance of the article lies in the fact that today new migration fl ows are being created and competition between countries for labor resources from Central Asian is increasing. The recipient countries that attract labor migrants include the Russian Federation, Iran, Turkey, China, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, and the countries of the European Union. The recommendations are made as a continuation of 2023 study, which was aimed at clarifying the attitude of migrant workers in Russia towards integration associations (EAEU, CSTO).

One of the actually problems are characteristics of the interethnic situation, the factors that generate interethnic tension and ethnoconflicts in modern Dagestan society. Socio-economic factors, dissatisfaction of Dagestan people a material situation with their own and their families are the main reasons for internal migration in Dagestan. For the above reasons, people are forced to move from places of their former residence to other regions of the republic for temporary or permanent residence.
