This article contains an overview of the historical and sociological institutional features of the first church and Sunday schools in Russia, carried out by drawing on the works of S. I. Miropol’skii, N. А. Lavrovskii, Y. V. Abramov. It describes the historical and social conditions of the emergence of church and Sunday schools in Russia.
