The article contains results of political analysis of the sanctions imposed against Russian sports since 2015. All sanctions imposed during this time are conditionally divided into two groups: those related to doping violations and those caused by the start of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine. The article highlights negative and positive consequences of the restrictions imposed. It also shows the negative consequences of sanctions for their initiators. In the last few years, there has been unprecedented politicization of high-performance sports. Despite the fact that Russian scholars are actively analyzing various aspects related to this process, methods of combating manifestations of discriminatory policies towards Russian athletes remain insuffi ciently studied. The author off ers a set of options for counteracting the politicization of sports that Russia could hypothetically use in the current situation, and fi nds out the attitude of representatives of the expert community towards them.

The article actualizes the need to study the behavioral characteristics and psycho-emotional portrait of consumers of the market of physical education and wellness services. The main attention is paid to the study of the formation of consumer preferences when choosing services, their needs and expectations from the services provided, as well as the infl uence of various factors on the decision to receive services from this market segment.

The paper analyzes the problem of accelerated maturation of children-athletes with reference to the theories of socialization and constructing their own maturation. To study the stated problem the theoretical and applied works of the researchers N. V. Veselkova and E. V. Pryamikova, aimed at revealing the social nature of the maturation competence, as well as two author's sociological researches were used. The first is "Longevity in sports of highest achievements", which was carried out by the method of questionnaire survey of high-class athletes (n = 400 people).

The article updates the need to study the role and importance of sports in the system of socialization and health-saving behavior of youth in the region (using the example of the Republic of Tatarstan). This article discusses the features of development of sports in the Saratov region. The main sports areas in the regional youth policy, targeted programmes for youth to promote healthy lifestyles in the framework of the youth policy. It is very important to pay attention to the health of the young generation to carry out activities aimed at stimulating motivation to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Support and development of the sports institutions every year improved as in the municipal centres and in the region.

The mechanism of the person’s civil identity formation as a whole comprises, among other things, a patriotic component. The aspect of patriotic education of the young generation in the light of the global situation aggravation in the geopolitical arena acquires a special meaning. Besides, many recent investigations emphasized the need of transforming the new generation’s civil-patriotic education system.

The article examines the features of the evolution of women’s sports career from the ideology of sports in the USSR up to the modern realities of the Russian Federation. The pattern of the state support and motivation of the population to go in for sports were traced. The main attention was paid to the factors and conditions that determine the transition from the traditional type of career to a number of transitional forms that are taking hold in today’s difficult conditions of economic modernization of Russian society.
