The potential of labor migration as a “soft power” resource to enhance integration processes between Russia and Central Asia

The relevance of the article lies in the fact that today new migration fl ows are being created and competition between countries for labor resources from Central Asian is increasing. The recipient countries that attract labor migrants include the Russian Federation, Iran, Turkey, China, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, and the countries of the European Union. The recommendations are made as a continuation of 2023 study, which was aimed at clarifying the attitude of migrant workers in Russia towards integration associations (EAEU, CSTO).

The article deals with topical issues of the implementation of China’s “soft power” policy in the Asia-Pacifi c region. The growing infl uence of China’s public diplomacy is demonstrated by the example of state programs of technological and economic development integrating tools of interaction with the governments of the Asia-Pacifi c states.
