В представленной статье речь идет о специфике взаимоотношений государства и гражданского общества в постсоветской России в контексте их соучастия в политическом управлении. Автором рассмотрены основные модели субъект-объектных взаимоотношений политической системы и гражданских институтов и обоснован наиболее адекватный вариант, 
отвечающий  историческим  особенностям  и  современным  объективным  и  субъективным российским реалиям.

Main directions and features of communist political designing in post-soviet Russia are considered in the article. Having analyzed theoretical, program, and electoral materials of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the author makes an inference that modern communist leaders try to synthesize two “sovereign” projects of statebuilding – imperial and soviet ones. This project departs from class and ideological evaluations that are usual for communists.

The article contains results of analysis of the historical change of paradigms presented by mass visions of the place and mission of a state within political process; the paradigms within which society designed political functionality of the “state of the future”. The author proves that in the face of pandemic and active fight of modern state institutions against it, social interest in optimization of political functions’ allocation between civil society and bureaucratic structures has risen.
