The study of various aspects of the formation of environmental identity of a citizen in Russia is just beginning to develop, becoming a topical issue for analysis in the context of increasing state interest in the mechanisms of improving the environmental condition. This problem can be explained through the prism of studying environmental identity. In this regard, the article examines the factors infl uencing the formation of environmental identity in Russia and highlights its key features, based on the modern political and cultural context.
