Ways of counteracting negative effects of politicization of sports in the assessments of expert survey’s participants

In the last few years, there has been unprecedented politicization of high-performance sports. Despite the fact that Russian scholars are actively analyzing various aspects related to this process, methods of combating manifestations of discriminatory policies towards Russian athletes remain insuffi ciently studied. The author off ers a set of options for counteracting the politicization of sports that Russia could hypothetically use in the current situation, and fi nds out the attitude of representatives of the expert community towards them.

State policy of education of patriotism of Russian youth as a factor of ensuring national security: Opinion of university experts

The article summarizes the results of the study conducted by the author among teachers and students of the university. The purpose of the study was to determine the priorities in the ideas of citizens about the meaning of patriotic education and about the tasks of strengthening the national security of Russia, which this education allows to solve. The study showed the relevance of such a direction of patriotic education of youth as the formation of a stable civic identity of the current generation of Russian citizens.

Two years of Special Military Operation: Dynamics of changes in the attitude of youth (within the context of media infl uence)

Despite the considerable attention paid to the attitude of young people towards special military operation (hereinafter referred to as SMO), the role of mass media in shaping the attitudes of this age group is not analyzed very often. Meanwhile, this is precisely what largely determines how young people perceive what is happening. In this regard, the aim of the study, the results of which are presented in this article, was to identify the dynamics of young people’s attitudes towards SMO in the context of their inherent media practices.

Features of modern approaches to the concept of “civilizational identity”: Russian and foreign research

 In this article, the author examines the variety of theoretical approaches to the concept of “civilizational identity” in Russian and foreign studies. Special attention is paid to the interpretation of the concept of “civilizational identity” by researchers from the countries of the Asia-Pacifi c region and the Middle East.

The potential of labor migration as a “soft power” resource to enhance integration processes between Russia and Central Asia

The relevance of the article lies in the fact that today new migration fl ows are being created and competition between countries for labor resources from Central Asian is increasing. The recipient countries that attract labor migrants include the Russian Federation, Iran, Turkey, China, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, and the countries of the European Union. The recommendations are made as a continuation of 2023 study, which was aimed at clarifying the attitude of migrant workers in Russia towards integration associations (EAEU, CSTO).

CIS countries in Russian Federation’s foreign policy and Russians' assessments

The main regional priority in Russia’s foreign policy is CIS countries. The special role of our country in this region is conditioned, fi rst of all, by deep dependence in diff erent spheres, by close cultures, common language, and traditions of common statehood. Russia traditionally considers the post-Soviet space as the zone of its national interests, acting as regional guarantor of peace and security.

Dynamics of foreign policy orientations of contemporary students` youth

Studies of foreign policy orientations of Russians are extremely signifi cant for modern Russian society and require comprehensive analysis in the context of ongoing transformations of the world order. To carry out separate and independent foreign policy, it is necessary to support it from the population, to form of stable foreign policy orientations, and current ideas about the ongoing foreign policy of the Russian Federation on the part of the representatives of various social groups.

Transformation of the “One Belt – One Road” Concept (2013–2023): A chronological approach

The People’s Republic of China’s “One Belt – One Road” initiative has been rather fully analyzed in the research literature. However, until now, the full chronology of this Initiative has not been presented in Russian historiography. In the article, the authors analyze transformation of the “One Belt – One Road” Concept using a chronological approach. The article also uses a systematic approach, analysis of the current situation, and the method of situational analysis.

Two years of Special Military Operation: Dynamics of changes in the attitude of youth

The article presents results of a study of young people’s attitude towards the Special Military Operation (hereinafter – the SMO). Data from monthly measurements carried out from March 2022 to January 2024 by Levada Center (recognized as a foreign agent in Russia), as well as the results of two online surveys (n = 2872) and a series of focus group interviews of young people (n = 74) conducted in November 2022 and November 2023 by employees of the Department of Political Science of Saratov State University are analyzed.

The article substantiates the diff erence between political science and sociological approaches to the analysis of political identities of young people. The authors come to the conclusion that the sociological approach in most cases assumes that political identities of citizens are analyzed and interpreted by the researcher as relevant at the time of conducting sociological research as a resource and tool for political selfreproduction of the social system.
