This article analyzes the evolution of the US – Japan – Republic of Korea geopolitical triangle amid the transformation of the Asia-Pacifi c region’s security architecture. It focuses on Washington’s strategy to strengthen its position through the creation of new cooperation formats (QUAD, AUKUS), intensified military exercises, and the expansion of military infrastructure. The role of the US in aligning Tokyo and Seoul’s positions, despite persistent historical contradictions, is examined separately.
