This article analyzes the evolution of the US – Japan – Republic of Korea geopolitical triangle amid the transformation of the Asia-Pacifi c region’s security architecture. It focuses on Washington’s strategy to strengthen its position through the creation of new cooperation formats (QUAD, AUKUS), intensified military exercises, and the expansion of military infrastructure. The role of the US in aligning Tokyo and Seoul’s positions, despite persistent historical contradictions, is examined separately. The authors conclude that this policy is leading to the deepening militarization of the Asia-Pacifi c region, the formation of a pro-American bloc similar to an “Asian NATO” to counterbalance the Russian-Chinese-North Korean alliance, and increased risks of regional escalation. The article argues for the importance of maintaining a balanced system of checks and balances at the regional level as a prerequisite for stability.
