External and internal threats as a risk factor for effective political communication of local governments

The article outlines the features of political communication of local governments in the context of new information challenges and threats. The role of municipal administrations in the formation of the information fi eld is determined by the example of the Saratov region. The tasks facing the heads of local administrations in the process of information and communication support of their professional activities in social networks are analyzed. The risk factors for information support of the activities of local governments in the modern information space are identifi ed.

Features of agenda setting in Telegram

This article focuses on the aspects of agenda formation in Russian-language Telegram messenger channels. Within the framework of the classical model of M. McCombs and D. Shaw, the main principles of agenda setting by traditional media are analyzed. Building upon the fi ndings of more recent research in the fi eld of agenda setting in the digital space, the authors highlight the advantages of social media as communication platforms and potential reasons for their increasing popularity among both individuals and political actors.

Political image during the electoral period: Based on materials of the pre-election campaign in the Nizhny Novgorod region in 2023

The content of the political image of one of the regional Russian leaders during the electoral period (elections of heads of Russian constituent entities in 2023) is studied in the article. The purpose of the paper is to identify the features of the symbolic and semantic content of the network image of a regional political leader during the pre-election period. Fulfi llment of the set research goal is carried out using the concept of the image-role construct and methods of content analysis (qualitative-quantitative type) and comparative analysis.

The article says that at our time has accelerated the processes of formation of public political communication. The author describes the difference between crowd and public; shows the role of crowdsourcing in this process.

The publication analyzes the causes and the logic of transition, which is observed in the mass consciousness of society and elites, from the ideas of «communication» of political subjects, as a means of solving their specific political problems, to the idea of it as the final practical result of modern politics. Effects of that transition for the dynamics of political processes at various levels are predicted.

The article is devoted to the possibilities of crisis communications between the government and society in social networks. The authors are of the opinion that in modern research and political practices insufficient attention is paid to studying the potential of political communication in social networks in a crisis situation.

К вопросу о сетевизации политического имиджа современного лидера: результаты эмпирического анализа

The networkization of the modern fi eld of public policy is studied in the paper. With the help of the information society theory and the image-role construct concept, the content of the image of the regional leader - the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region G.S. Nikitin is analyzed in the research. A qualitative-quantitative type of content analysis was chosen as the main empirical method of research, and the information array of data was made up of news reports from the Website of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Government.
